* Life and vitality depends urgently on a basic / alkaline cell milieu (every cell) with a very small tolerance of pH 7,35 – 7,45, extreme cases range from pH 7,30 – 7,80. You see, the upper limit is a little more flexible than the lower – the more basic the better! The pH scale ranges from pH 0 (strong acidic) to 14 (strong alkaline / basic) – pH 7,0 is neutral (water).
** Consumer advice centers explicitly warn against permanently high meat content in the diet due to increased risk of cancer. As omnivores, humans tolerate small amounts of meat and dairy products (apart from individual intolerances). Animal fats slow down detoxification and promote acidification (just like dairy products).
Relevant for the ketogenic diets
During digestion of meat (fat proportion is quite high: 15-25%), your metabolism is not able to consume own body fat depots. So carrots, potatoes, pumpkin and even peas could be the better alternative, despite of slightly increased carbohydrate proportion (5,5 bis max. 14%). It depends on the amount – see the energy information above. They have even other advantages: an enormous antioxidant and alkaline effect on the cell milieu. Only a few herbal products – such as chickpeas and falafel – are not so good for ketogenic diets.
